She Is Unleashed Inner Circle Member Presentations: More than Surviving with Christine Thompson-Glasco

Christine Glasco is a woman who loves God. American by way of the Caribbean, Christine has a multicultural heritage which includes Bahamas, Barbados, and Jamaica; and she has lived in different countries including Australia. Along with her husband, Brian, they have pastored Salvation Army churches in Newark, NJ; Brooklyn and Harlem, NY; and Hartford, CT. They currently serve here in Ohio in East Cleveland. She and her husband have two children, David – 16 and Debbie -14. Her family also has two little dogs, Daisy and Carlos.

As well as being a pastor, Christine is a poet/writer who is working on publishing her poetry, and a memoir of her trauma years. She wants others to know that they too can also experience healing from sexual abuse (no matter how horrible), and that there can be abundant life in Jesus Christ after sexual trauma.

Christine is a survivor of childhood and adolescent sexual abuse which began when she was around 2 years of age and continued until she was around 16 years of age. Over 8 years of therapy later, Christine is more than surviving – she has begun to thrive and continues to learn to do that. She is on a journey of deep healing, restoration, and transformation into the woman God created her to be, fulfilling His destiny and purpose for her life: to bring other people out of the bondage of trauma caused by sexual abuse just as God did for her.

During this presentation, Christine will focus on a summarization of her abuse history: how it started, the main perpetrators, a bit of what she went through with some of them, how the abuse affected her then and what she is still dealing with today. She will focus on what help she got and is still getting, and how that has helped her to move from being a survivor to being someone healthy and thriving. She will outline a number of steps that helped her get to where she is today.
